I am 62, I almost died from measles as a baby.
I too am 62. I too got very sick from measles as a small child. 35 years later my dentist could detect this in my teeth!
My parents were strong on vaccinations, but the measles vaccine just didn't exist in the UK yet.
@TomSwirly @Sarahw @tompearce49 that's my case, only smallpox and polio had vaccines available in 1962 when I took the Sabin's polio drops. I contracted every contagious disease of that time: measles, mumps, chicken pox, rubella. It's stupid to let a child go through that nowadays when there are vaccines to prevent it.

I learnt to read while in quarantine for measles, from a couple grocery sacks filled with comic books. I also became a fan of late night television (anyone else remember the Dick Cavett Show?)
I had not even started kindergarten yet.
I will be 62 come February.
