Traveling from #Brussels to #Vienna via #rail :
* Yesterday's sleeper train NightJet was cancelled due to #extremeweather in Austria.
* Today we are in Deutsche Bahn misery, with the ICE 17 from Brussels to Frankfurt cancelled and replace by three (!) local trains.
Conclusion: summer is now hurricane season in Europe, and overland traveling has become unreliable. Perversely, air travel is almost unaffected. #ClimateCrisis

Oh, as I imagine you'll be super late on the scheduling... is there any compensation?
@pblu We will see about that. To a first approximation, we get refunded our cancelled ticket, plus part of the difference between that and the (more expensive) second ticket we had to buy. This is OEBB policy. On top of that, since the substitute train (DB) was also several hours late, we plan to ask for compensation for that too.
Finally, we have to pay for a hotel. That will just be a loss.
