@amberfirefly It's quite a shock to realize, within just a few days of a change of Govt, just how much the Tories had normalized petty, vindictive and just downright evil public policies.

It also opens the door to the lowering of expectations and the belief that "nothing good will come, so stop trying and instead just try to hurt those you perceive as responsible / your enemies".

@amberfirefly More importantly, they need to remove planning permission powers for electric transmission lines from NIMBY local authorities (mostly Tory-controlled, just saying). They have hobbled the national grid and hindered the green transition by stopping plentiful renewable power from Scotland or East Anglia from being shipped to South England, where housing is being blocked because there is no hookup capacity available.

Fossil fuel companies have likely realised the best way to slow the green energy transition is to slow grid expansion/upgrades; and targeted that area specifically. Astroturfing, local targeting of disinfo campaigns, writing policy and buying corrupt politicians and parties.
