@christineburns the difference is that its not fossil carbon being released. It's carbon that was captured in tree farms in the US over the previous five to ten years. Basically its displaced carbon from the US to the UK.
Plus all the extra carbon from fossil fuel equipment used in growing and harvesting the trees, converting them to pellets, and shipping them across the ocean.
It's a scam to skirt regulations. Biomass should not be in the same category as solar and wind.
