@christineburns Twitter needs to die. It would make my year if it Elon goes with it. It was a huge influence over our election. Push hard for your governments to ban it. Every American service should be carefully vetted. They are busy gaining leverage on all social media here and will use it to spread their filth. Don't follow us!

@christineburns as an American I say boycott us, shot our platforms down, and get off of anything the US produces or serves.
I might be a trusted ally but my nation has sadly turned into a dishonorable and reprehensible entity. Shut us out in every way possible, we deserve nothing.

I mean, honestly, anything musk amplifies is a self-serving lie and whoever calls him out gets bullied or simply has their posts suppressed. So free speech arguments dont really hold for twitter.
And for any chuckle head that says it’s censorship, I’m seeing my rights slip away in my own country, as a woman, because my fellow citizens chose to take them for me, because they can’t parse facts, and that is how they hurt me.
Say I get offered a job in Texas. A man can look at me, chose me as the mother of his child, rape me, and I am forbidden from getting an abortion. Or say I get consensually pregnant, and have a complication that kills the fetus. Chances are I could die of sepsis as some already have because the doctors are too afraid to help a pregnant woman - afraid they’ll be jailed for aborting.
And if I were to yell or boo at the stage at a public meeting in, say, Idaho, they’d have unmarked “security people” who now nobody can identify drag me out of the room. It just happens.
This is how the United States of America and my fellow citizens, hurt me, and took away rights I needed to protect myself.
And I am just a woman, just one affected group.
The government is targeting, in different ways, Black Americans, all people of color, queer folk, trans folk, immigrants, the poor, oh, anyone they can’t turn into money.
So free speech…sure, but the guy who owns the platform, and manipulated the algorithm, he wanted all of the above.

@christineburns maybe it's enough to enforce EU regulations to the fullest and annoy Heilon Musk enough so that he pulls it from the EU market by himself?
He seems very mood driven, and manic, so pushing the right buttons might be enough.

@christineburns Ideally, I would like to see both X and facebook blocked in Europe, but only if we do it based on principles and law. Booth companies are based on surveillance capitalism.
Let's ban that practice, like the Norwegian Consumer Protection Agancy has proposed, and enforce a block on platforms that does not comply.

@christineburns Agree 100%. Why does the EU continue to support the biggest US weapon of mass destruction?
@iveyline @christineburns Three reasons come to mind:
1. There are many EU laws relating to free speech which would allow X to challenge the law. They may win, may not, but either way the case could drag for years.
2. X still has quite a lot of users, who would instantly turn against any party espousing such a policy.
3. X's CEO has friends in the highest of places. Retaliation is possible: Trump may push to block access to EU companies.
