Have you longed for some wise people talking about #AI, who know what they’re speaking about, but aren’t at the same time in the ownership or beneficiary classes from these technologies?

The myths Silicon Valley tries to sell us are busted here, but not in a dismissive or doomy way. Harari & Raskin recognize the amazing potential of AI, while they see also the potential of not having a functioning society at the end to enjoy the benefits.
If nothing else, Harari’s comparison of Silicon Valley to the Bolshevik party is priceless! 
The similarities are indeed striking: Here is a small group of people, who think they are a vanguard that can re-engineer society from scratch.
This small group of people think they know something the entire rest of the world doesn’t, and that they can engineer a utopia. And because they believe in it so hard, that gives them the permission to harm a lot of people on the way.
@gimulnautti @quixoticgeek What they have in common is a utopian ideology and the "vanguard party" concept of political leadership. Which is inherently anti-democratic and prone to building pyramids of skulls when the stubborn reality on the ground refuses to conform to ideological predictions.

@ntnsndr i agree that makes a great difference. But governance begins where money’s influence ends, and it is by ideology & rhetoric.. I would even go as far as saying mythology.. that they capture the hearts and minds of the public & regulators.
