This is (rather tatty) CHINESE CHARACTER - so called because the faint silver lines on its wing are said to resemble Chinese character 山. Size of your little finger nail and mimics bird dropping to put off predators.

A small moth which is flat along the bottom, but holds its wings steeply above its abdomen and which slope down towards its ground-level head resembling a speech bubble or a comma on its side. It is white-grey with grey-blue dots running along the rear edge of the wing. The middle of the wing is more grey-brown with dark patches nearby. On the grey-brown patch, a fine silver line resembling a Chinese character for the word mountain. It sits on a terracotta plate. Across the bottom are some running statistics from the morning run. Distance 6.41km, Time 46:41, Pace 7:17 minute kilometres average.
