seeking distraction from today's real tasks in #ArchitecturalHistory -- I have noticed that a church of the 1840s in Streatham Hill, South London (one I looked at for years from a cheap rented room), is twinned with the British Legation (Embassy) in Tehran. Both by J.W. Wild, who must have been fond of square pyramidal forms. Anglo-Persian oil policy was formed here? As an ambitious mid-C19 architect Wild followed his own lines -- infl. by contemp German architecture , exhibition sheds, etc.
