@mrsmhere These forests also broadly support more species than most natural forests (at least in the Netherlands) due to their abundance in different plant species and the complexity it generates compared to natural forests which due to manmade maintenance have vastly degraded. Hope this explains it a bit π

@mrsmhere Glad you asked! Foodforests are manmade forests that mimic the different workings of a natural forests. Only instead of most of the trees and plants found in natural forests you replace them with edible plants and trees (e.g. fruit, nuts, herbs). This way it becomes its own little ecosystem which supports humans as well as a lot of native species (insects, animals, pollinators).

Found some yellow archangel flowering beside a stream a few days ago. Would love to grow some in the woodland area Iβm creating in my own garden, but as yet I havenβt found a supplier. A cheerful flower. π

The #bluebells in my local woodland are probably at their best right now, especially with the tree canopy coming into leaf. Such a very beautiful place to walk in. I always look forward to this time of year. ππ

Lettuce for supper today, I think! I have grown these myself on my bedroom window-sill, from seed. They are a variety called βLittle Gem,β which doesnβt take up much space. I grow them in re-purposed ice-cream tubs in peat-free compost. Zero air miles! ππππ₯¬
