This is a reminder to everyone that just because an app is free & open source, doesn't automatically make it secure or privacy friendly. Free software is about transparency and freedom. If a software is FOSS, it allows you to look through the source code & share/modify it as you want. The security/privacy aspect of FOSS is entirely dependent on how many people are looking through the source code trying to find security/privacy issues.
