@pvonhellermannn They're doing it wrong in the US and UK, but it's possible to do it right. Not using fossil fuels to start with, and not doing enhanced oil recovery.
There are places where CCS makes sense, such as when producing cement. Cement is a huge CO2 emitter. It's from a chemical reaction, not from using fossil fuels. It definitely makes sense to capture and store it instead of releasing it into the atmosphere.
@JohanEmpa yes, thank you for adding this. I was being a bit flippant - as you point out, in certain situations it really does make sense. And in general i am all for trying everything, just not misleading greenwashing or technologies that just aren’t appropriate at all
