WTF does #KeirStarmer mean by #SadiqKhan needs to "reflect on #ULEZ"? Should he roll back ULEZ in #Tory constituencies and only charge #Labour councils? Or should he roll back any #climate policy because it upsets the #Tories? An alternative could be of course that Keir himself offers a clear #funding strategy to bridge the #costofliving gap to better #publictransport & #EV, but why take responsibility when you can throw someone else under the red bus? https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jul/21/starmer-urges-khan-to-reflect-on-ulez-rules-after-uxbridge-defeat #byelection
@sheislaurence also and I maybe wrong. Wasn't the ulez required by the Tories to pay for tfl?
@SimonB well there was a gap in funding #TFL and Sadiq and team had to be creative. Given they also had #emissiontarget obligations it made sense to find that money there. But the Tories were never interested in either ULEZ or where any money would come from, given they are those who imposed the cuts in the first place.
@sheislaurence yeah for sure.
