Reaching Out

Here are some wonderfully contorted dead branches on an old oak tree in the woods on the Ashridge Estate on the Herts/Bucks border.

The image is a throwback to my time shooting 4x5-inch sheet film on a field camera. It is photography in its purest form, with incredible amounts of control over all aspects of the image-making process.
