Not sure if it’s for everyone, but as the grandson of someone who lived through the blitz of London, and the son of someone who was evacuated, I was quite moved by #Blitz on #AppleTV.

I watch movies like this, and it really brings home my privilege as a #Canadian who has never experienced the horrors of such things. Honestly, I’m amazed my mother and grandfather emerged with their sanity.

Okay people, a long time ago, I did find some specific information about the ww2 blitz. And now I need that information, but can't find it anywhere because Google got worse.

So the question is what was the flight path German bombers used to reach Liverpool and Merseyside in 1940/41 and how did they navigate in the dark.

If you can answer that, or suggest a decent search engine, I'll be grateful.

Blitz

Written and directed by Steve McQueen; starring Elliott Heffernan, Saoirse Ronan

Evacuated from London to escape the Blitz, a young boy runs away to get back to his mother.

The film recreates the time period with great accuracy and depicts moments of daily life from an original point of view.
Halfway through however, the episodic narrative runs out of steam and the film meanders weakly to a mediocre ending.

A Blitz bizonyítja, hogy ha nem működik egy forgatókönyv, akkor még a legjobb színészek sem tudják megmenteni a filmet. Persze azt nem állítom, hogy a Blitz rossz film, csak vannak fenntartásaim vele kapcsolatban. Mivel része az SR Retro 25 tematikus sorozatomnak is, így az egyperces kategóriában megemlékeztem róla.
