A trail leads away straight ahead through many slim trees whose leafless branches seem to intertwine overhead. Splashes of green are seen here and there where moss clings to the bottoms of trunks.

A hawthorn in full bloom of white flowers now overhangs a single track footpath so it’s necessary to duck underneath its branches to get past. Dogs can pass underneath quite happily as this brindle boxer dog is showing. The footpath bends around to the left.

Tall, slender pine trees with reddish-brown bark dominate the scene, reaching upwards towards a bright blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds visible through the canopy. The path itself is earthy, with patches of vibrant green moss and grass growing along its edges and in sunlit areas. Shadows from the trees create a textured pattern across the path. The undergrowth is sparse, consisting mainly of low-lying vegetation and fallen pine needles. The perspective draws the viewer into the depths of the tranquil woodland.

Thread: #Freudenthalweg Part 1

The hiking trail (153 km) runs from Hamburg to Verden and is marked with a white F. It is named after 2 brothers August and Friedrich Freudenthal. Both Born in the middle of 19th century and both Heidedichter (poets). The trail is one of the oldest in Germany and not so well known as others.
