Federal and most provincial #CarbonPricing for consumers is now dead in Canada. Murdered by the simplistic #AxetheTax chorus led by the Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre. Unfortunately many Canadians never did understand the program. Also many people did understand it and knew that they were paying more for #fossilfuels unless they adopted #carbonneutral transport, heating, etc. This video from @thenarwhal is helpful to understand some of the issues. youtu.be/FP_tJlotgBk?feature=s

"Doing the research, looking at the long history of disinformation it was really chilling to read reports from climate science teams that were reporting to the #FossilFuels industry that if we continue with these emissions & pumping CO2 into the atmosphere, it threatens global habitability!"

"The review synthesizes the extensive scientific evidence showing that #FossilFuels and the fossil fuel industry are fueling not only the #climate crisis but also public health harms, environmental injustice, #biodiversity loss, and the #plastics and agrochemical pollution crises."

Understanding the health impacts of the climate crisis
and imagining a positive future

"Climate change is the greatest threat to human health now."

"Climate change is already causing significant shifts in weather patterns and an increase in extreme weather events around the world, including droughts, heatwaves, wildfires, storms and floods."

"The major cause of pollution is the burning of fossil fuels, further motivating action on reducing GHG; adverse weather events, such as heatwaves, can acutely amplify pollution impacts."
