It's almost time for morel season in Michigan.
I've done spring and fall mushroom hunting, but have never specifically gone out to look for morels.

This aerial video of Pigeon River State Forest in northern lower Michigan is hard to understand unless you know how mature red pines grow: the branches and needles are almost all at the top. Those things that look like xmas trees in the undergrowth are actually the snapped-off tops of trees.
