Lots of folks out and about in the park today, including a trickle of sign-lugging folks taking the bike path homeward from the local Hands Off rally site about a half-mile away. Alas, the rally itself would have been way beyond the CrankyBod's abilities, but I'm glad to at least witness the fringes while I get some nature therapy.

We had a wonderful time at the Huber Woods #Environmental Center in #Monmouth County, #NewJersey today. It is the former estate of the German #immigrant Huber family from the late 1890s-early 1900s who established a farm here and preserved the land. They donated the land and their home to the Monmouth County #Parks to be a free educational center on the #environment for the public. Their beautiful Alpine-inspired house is now the #Nature Center for the park.

Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park is a short drive from our home in #Memphis, #Tennessee. It has been a welcoming forest for camping and hiking, and we have witnessed countless moonrises from the shores of Poplar Tree Lake in the park. This second-person ode contemplates these experiences and the wisdom gained from knowing this special place in western Tennessee.
