In der Tat ist die Diskussion, ob #socialmedia Nutzung "nur" mit psychischen Erkrankungen korreliert oder dafür kausal ist, wichtig und dazu wird weiter geforscht.

Spannend fand ich die Ergebnisse einer US-Befragung (auf die Haidt verweist), dass fast die Hälfte der Teens (47%) wünschten, #TikTok wäre nie erfunden worden. Sie wollen aber natürlich nicht diejenigen (=einzigen) sein, die darauf verzichten. Haidt spricht von einer "collective action trap", also einer kollektiven Falle. Raus kommt man auch nur kollektiv, sonst droht soziale Isolation.

I’ve been watching the past week to try and keep some track of what’s going on in the USA.

It was a ride, but I notice myself instinctively pulling away from it, because it is so damn intensive. The way it engages you so much more feels creepy.

I like text more because it is silent. It’s light, it allows me to think more cleary. I can concentrate while I have my own second layer of thought.
