last weekend i found a photograph of the treehouse i painted for MÄANDER (published by @hatjecantzverlag) in the @cabinporn book
it’s taken from a different angle but you can clearly recognize it. i would like to underline that i am sitting on the shoulders of giants: my paintings are often reworks of the existing works by other artists, like this example shows. i collect, recompose, collage and through recombination and putting the sujets in a new context, awake new associations and create something else.

Die Geschichte stammt aus China und erzählt von einem alten Maler, der den Freunden sein neuestes Bild zu sehen gab. Ein Park war darauf dargestellt, ein schmaler Weg am Wasser und durch einen Baumschlag hin, der lief vor einer kleinen Tür aus, die hinten in ein Häuschen Einlass bot. Wie sich die Freunde aber nach dem Maler umsahen, war der fort und in dem Bild. Da wandelte er auf dem schmalen Weg zur Tür, stand vor ihr still, kehrte sich um, lächelte und verschwand im Spalt.

The artist moki depicts characteristic forms of refuge and elementary strategies of physical retreat such as shielding, disguising, veiling or going into hiding.
In her paintings we encounter a range of huts and tent-like structures, coverings of found materials, and other inventive modes of protection or concealment, like camouflaging and masking. Sadly I'm going to have to dismantle this soon. Kid's all grown up and the timber floor probably isn't safe any more for neighbours' kids.
I built it in our pepper tree with all recycled timber - pallets etc - back in 2012. We really like it and when I shared a pic with #TerryDenton on social media he liked it too

Now this is what we call a #Moonsie. When we started @KronoMoonPhotos, we expected lots of #portraits that would include one's #self &/or one's #pet with the #Moon in the same frame — what we call a #Moonsie. After boosting and retooting hundreds of #MoonPhotos it's been rare to see an example as bold as this one of a wide-eyed #orange #cat in a #tree (a #treehouse?) illuminated by a bright #fullMoon shining overhead.
