Sometimes, when I post stories from bunkers and other abandoned places, some ask if I tried to enter them. This picture is a good example of a place I thought about entering, but realized I wouldn't want to get stuck inside.

A few weekends ago, I took my cameras for a hike outside Berlin to Döberitzer Heide. I went there to look for abandoned bunkers from the Second World War, but the history of this place goes further than that. The site's military use began in 1713 with the first military exercises. Until 1991, the area was intensively occupied by the Red Army, which significantly shaped the landscape.

During the hours I walked around, this ruined bunker demanded most of my pictures, and I'm glad this expired film produced exciting colors…
