Im Moment ist FOSS Browser in 26 Sprachen zu 97 % übersetzt. Unvollständig sind folgende Sprachen:

• Hebräisch
• Persisch
• Serbisch
• Serbisch (lateinische Schrift).

Lol I got a cheap Android to house the apps that my employer forces me to use (I'm not putting them on my real phone, obviously), and after powering on the device for the first time and spending like an hour stripping all the permissions, Google won't let me turn it off without signing into a Google account. The power button just brings up a sign-in screen - you can back out of it, but there's no way to turn the phone off.

Interacting with Google makes me feel the same way interacting with abusive family members and partners has. What fucking creepy, coercively controlling stalkers Googlers are.

I love GrapheneOS so much

In my attempt to #degoogle, I've gotten a #protrondrive account. But I've hit a bit of a feature snag. I need to be able to open and edit spreadsheet and text documents from this online storage on my #android device. First attempt was with #onlyoffice but quickly found it doesn't have a way to access proton drive. I see people online asking for this... But no go atm. Anyone else suggest work arounds or #foss alternatives? Been eyeing #cryptpad as well.

Die Software der Automobile läuft schon bzw. bei neueren Wägen komplett über Google. Zumindest bei Renault kam ich da neulich in einem Schwätzchen zu dieser Weisheit.

Ich hatte mich vorher schon darüber geärgert, wieviel Zuwendung mein kleines Auto mir ständig aufzwingt, und alle anderen Argumente für und gegen die Unterhaltung eines eigenen PKW gelistet. Dieser Punkt stärkt das "dagegen!".

Funny thing.... yesterday I've managed to install vivaldi on my shitty cheap samsung phone, deleted a lot of Google bits and bobs.... now I'm bombarded with suggestions from both of them: use this app from us, use this one from us.... can't wait to save enough to buy an older Sony Xperia and try out some different os like jolla, Ubuntu or whatever I can find... #degoogle #worldunite #europeunited #opensource . Working to deGoogle and deApple myself by the end of the year. Mostly involves buying a Fairphone running Murena's /e/OS, building a Linux desktop machine, and replacing apps/services, but the exercise of mapping all of this out alone is already proving to be fun, enlightening, and liberating.

I tried installing https://skylight.social/ (short form video app that uses the AT Protocol) on my “degoogled” GrapheneOS phone just to see what it's like, and it immediately demanded that I install Google Play services in order to use it

It's possible to sandbox them on Graphene OS and I do have a user account with them for my banking app, but I'm really not interested in using a social app that demands them

Moved to @ente photos. Stopped using Google photos around 2 years ago. Was keeping offline. Finally made the switch.
