Portugal needs to free itself from this dependency on importing fossil fuels "to feed" road transport, the purchase of electric cars (which went from almost irrelevant sales in 2010 to close to 14,000/year in 2021 - more information at this link: <a href="https://apve.pt/estatisticas/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://apve.pt/estatisticas/</a> ), the use of public transport and rail will be key in this reduction of foreign dependency.
