GORGEOUS MONSTERS
Welcome to my new interview series. I am the official human spokesperson for the Guardian Monster Guild, editor of the Monster Times & Review and author of the glamorous tell-all book, What Monsters Want. These are hard-won credentials that I have worked tirelessly to obtain. As an ordinary human being, entering the realm of Monsterdom requires a rigorous determination, and an ego that can survive all manner of taunts, threats and indignation. I have endured countless nips, pokes and licks from numerous monsters whose intent, it seems, was to provoke me into giving up. I have proved them wrong! NOTE: This latest set of interviews on monster pets is for human eyes only and includes interviews with a select group from the Gorgeous Monsters Society. (This is the name they give themselves.) My oh my, The Mind Benders class I taught at FOCI wrapped up last night and what a wonderful whirlwind! I had the most amazing students who time and time again, were so hungry for knowledge, and wanted to learn more and more.
We learned to bend neon, make digital vector patterns, blink the neon with programmable microcontrollers and I even showed them how they could work with a glassblower to pull their own tubes.

My TA, @dinkytown was incredible- typically fulfilling the class's needs before I even asked her. I am thrilled that she learned a bunch in the class.
It was able to train two FOCI staff members to bombard (the dangerous process of purifying and putting gas in the tubes)- so now FOCI neon renters can get their tubes filled quicker.
The artist talk and demo I gave was well attended, and now FOCI has the doodle I made during the demo in their permanent collection.

Survey: Q1 How big is your phone? What else would you carry in a belt bag? I made some that fit my iPhone 11 hard case (6.5”x5” x2”), but know other people carry bigger phones and more stuff...
Q2 These fit 32-43” waist (adjustable). In future bags what waist size range should I make? Maybe a 28” and up? (I’ll look at garment sizes too. I want to fit the widest range possible.) PS. INNER MONSTERS
Inner Monsters don't necessarily look like "real" monsters. They are part of that constant chatter going on in the background of our own minds, shaping our view of the world. They can appear in a variety of forms, from human, animal, monster-like, even as plants! Most of us... ahem... keep our inner beasties tucked "safely" in the closet, hoping they won't decide to reveal themselves at inopportune times, causing all manner of embarrassing moments, like sudden extreme shyness, unexplained crying jags, overwhelming crankiness, or laughing out loud for no apparent reason, among others. Sound familiar?
The solution is (drum roll please...) to MEET your inner monsters, SEEK to understand them, EMBRACE them as yours, and then LEARN about yourself through them. Bring them out of your personal inner-verse and set them free!

Midnight Monsters: A Startled Moontinkifer
Do not be afraid. Like many night creatures, they just wish to be left alone. These secretive beings often hide in the shadows, except when the moon is full and bright. The midnight moon is their time of wonder and if you happen to be in the right place at the right time, you just may witness some magical happenings. This particular midnight monster is called Moontinkifer and can be found high up in the Balkan mountain range on the border between Bulgaria and eastern Serbia . It was not easy getting to this destination, but I have found it worth the effort, expense and skinned knees. Legend says that if one is lucky enough to spot them during the day, they appear as drab, colorless creatures, almost invisible against the mountain landscape of rocks and boulders. They shine (literally) at night when they come out of their hiding places to dance. Moonlight causes a shimmering transformation from dull gray to a luminous rainbow colored glow! It is believed that the glimmer of incandescent color and magical movements is their way of attracting a mate. Otherwise, they appear to be quite shy, non-aggressive individuals, who unfortunately, startle easily.
