Narcissus 'Bell Song', Jonquilla and Apodanthus Group, G. E. Mitsch 1971. Two flowers on one stem. The perianth/petals are simple creamy white. The corolla is short, a bit ruffled, pale yellowish ornage at the proximal end and creamy pastel orange at the distal. In the background another flower, some foliage, and a wood fence.

Tulipa 'Akebono', Jn. Haakman an Zn. B.V. 2007. Looking down at the flower just beginning to open. It's a double tulip. The petals are light yellow with reddish veining, the outer ones tending to green. Raindrops cling to the petals. Blurry background of leaves.

Viola adunca, western dog violet or western blue violet. In the foreground one flower, with two petals pointing up like "ears", and two down on either side of the "lip" petal. Most of the flower is a deep purple-violet, with the center being whitish, and the proximal part of the lip being yellow and veined with deep indigo. Raindrops. In the background, blurry leaves and buds.

Iberis sempervirens. In the foreground, an inflorescence, a corymb of white flowers each with two large and two small petals and a dot of yellow stamens. The rest of the image is mostly more of them, and a bit of leafy green. Raindrops.

Hyacinth 'Springfield', V.o.f. Orientalis 2008. Against a blurry BG of leaves, a closeup of a blue hyacinth flower. Several florets at visible, petals of cerulean with darker midrib shading toward indigo. Rain clings to them.

Fritillaria meleagris. Two flowers on the same stalk. Drooping petals, deep maroon-purple with white checkers on them. Raindrops.

Epimedium × versicolor 'Sulphureum', bishop's mitre or barrenwort. Several flowers in focus and many more in the background. Each has for sheltering light yellow sepals opened in a cross, and under them, four reflecex petals protecting the stamens and pistil.

Prunus x yedoensis 'Akebono'. A closeup of a handful of flowers just beginning to open. A single row of delicately pink petals, still slightly rumpled, and bright saffron orange pollen. Grey-blue sky in the background.

A slightly wider angle of Prunus x yedoensis 'Akebono'. A cluster of buds and a few flowers opening, against a background of more, and a pale blue sky in the background.

Bellis perennis, the lawn daisy. An archetypical white daisy flower with golden center. Behind it and blurry, another, and in the background out of focus grass and leaves.

Prunus sargentii 'Rancho'. A couple of newly opened flowers and many buds. Compared to 'Akebono' this one is a stronger pink with more elongated petals, and the pollen is pale yellow. The background is blue sky and grey back.

On a stark white background, a single stem of the plant. Two unopened buds are visible in the BG. In the foregoud, a newly opened flower, with three petals sticking straight out in a trinagle, and three other recurved away from us. Each petal is white with prominent central red striping from medial to distal end.
