A quotation from Teddy Roosevelt
All men in whose character there is not an element of hardened baseness must admit the need in our public life of those qualities which we somewhat vaguely group together when we speak of “reform,” and all men of sound mind must also admit the need of efficiency.
There are, of course, men of such low moral type, or of such ingrained cynicism, that they do not believe in the possibility of making anything better, or do not care to see things better. There are also men who are slightly disordered mentally, or who are cursed with a moral twist which makes them champion reforms less from a desire to do good to others than as a kind of tribute to their own righteousness, for the sake of emphasizing their own superiority. From neither of these classes can we get any real help in the unending struggle for righteousness.
There remains the great body of the people, including the entire body of those through whom the salvation of the people must ultimately be worked out. All these men combine or seek to combine in varying degrees the quality of striving after the ideal, that is, the quality which makes men reformers, and the quality of so striving through practical methods — the quality which makes men efficient. Both qualities are absolutely essential. The absence of either makes the presence of the other worthless or worse.
Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) American politician, statesman, conservationist, writer, US President (1901-1909)

In this image I tried to weave together indigenous Australian dot-painting technique with Byzantine mosaics of Jesus and Hindu depictions of various deities to try to signify common threads between Eastern and Western forms of philosophical Idealism as well as the indigenous Australian 'Dreamtime'. Notice the eyes looking up toward the figure's right hemisphere.

"For Chomsky and Robinson, these claims are nonsense. Not only did the young American republic fulfill its Manifest Destiny by waging a genocidal campaign against the indigenous population, but it has since backed a bevy of brutal dictatorships, intervened to thwart democratic processes in many countries, and waged or backed wars that killed millions of people in Indochina, Latin America, and the Middle East, all while falsely claiming to be defending freedom, democracy, human rights, and other cherished ideals. U.S. officials are quick to condemn others when they violate international law, but they refuse to join the International Criminal Court, the Law of the Sea Treaty, and many other global conventions. Nor do they hesitate to violate the United Nations Charter themselves, as U.S. President Bill Clinton did when he went to war against Serbia in 1999 or as President George W. Bush did when he invaded Iraq in 2003. Even when undeniably evil acts are exposed—such as the My Lai massacre, the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison, and the CIA’s torture program—it is low-level personnel who get punished while the architects of these policies remain respected members of the establishment.
The record of hypocrisy recounted by Chomsky and Robinson is sobering and convincing. No open-minded reader could absorb this book and continue to believe the pious rationales that U.S. leaders invoke to justify their bare-knuckled actions."

I certainly cannot explain #phenomenology but i have let go of struggle.
Here is my simple take:
• we cannot "know" reality;
• conceiving "things" treats nature as objects;
• instead we may accept that we are part of nature;
• we may even listen to ourselves for deciding about ourselves instead of deciding for the rest.
Here is a practical take: https://mastodon.world/@joie/112207714881361569
Kant changed the thinking of his time and since then most philosophers (and others in different fields) have tried to respond to his thinking, he initiated German idealism which in turn took his views to exaggerated lengths, but generally the thinking of the mind actively structuring what it knows and that experiences are pre-digested by the mind, are originally Kant’s views...

Logical justifications to believe in Analytical Idealism:
1. It makes good sense
2. It is well substantiated by empirical evidence
3. It is consistent with all observations
4. It explains more of these observations than materialism does
5. it is the most parsimonious metaphysical model (i.e. it doesn't assume unknowns for it to be upheld)

'… there is no way – not even in principle – to logically deduce the qualities of conscious perception, cognition or feeling from the mass, momentum, spin, position, or charge of the subatomic particles making up the brain. Such complete lack of intuition makes it impossible to judge whether a particular mapping between a brain process and a conscious experience is, at all, reasonable.'

and before you lies the tragedy of the inflexible #idealism on #theleft, and why it is so #toxic to their own interests
if the left voted as dependably as #MAGA, they would own the #democrats. like MAGA owns the #GOP
instead the left expects perfection, gets frustrated on this or that issue in brittle weakness instead of seeing the big picture and the #strategy, doesn't #vote, and so everyone ignores them

“In an important sense, what Jung is saying is that our physical, waking reality is amenable to symbolic interpretation, just as our dreams are. The external world, too, conveys meaning through symbolic expression, as if it were “the dream of a greater and more comprehensive consciousness.”
