A Common Myna (Acridotheres tristis) spotted in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia on 3 April 2025. Usually common, but not in urban areas, being displaced / replaced by the introduced Javan Myna. If you look closely at the eyes, you'll see an uncommon feature: a 'ring' of spots surrounding the iris.

Front legs, who needs them right? It's not only mantis who dispense of them for walking. But to be fair midgets don't really ever walk. So the sensory neurons at the tips of their legs (hence flies can taste with their feet) may here have become part of a second pair of antennae.
Microtendipes sp. midget in full double antennae mode. The bushiness of its actual antennae suggests it's a male.

This looks very appealing.
1) It's a Nature Conservancy site.
2) There are few iNaturalist observations. That's what I would be doing.
There's a visitors center and nature center (possibly the same). I'll check in there to see what they know that would be interesting for a quick bioblitz. I could easily triple, at least, their observations to date in an hour, the way I document things.
