MAGA is a cult of , but its led by these crooks who amassed their wealth or power in dishonest ways. And on some level they have to recognise what they are; thieves, bullies and liars.

And they rage about it. They are petty, weak men using power to erase proof that better men exist.

Local resident Jibber Prevalia exclaims, “hugs are for sissies,” after witnessing a father hugging his son. When asked to elaborate on the matter, Mr. Prevalia went on to say, “behavior like that is what’s making our young men weak. I miss the good old days, where the only hugging that place was a firm, two-handed grip on a man’s shoulder before he was shoved into a lake to learn how to swim—or into a job to learn how to work.

Mr. Prevalia, a self-proclaimed expert in “real toughness,” lamented the erosion of traditional values, recalling a childhood where affection was best expressed through a respectful nod, a stiff handshake, or a well-timed punch to the arm.

“When I was a boy,” he continued, adjusting his belt with unnecessary aggression, “my father never hugged me. Instead, he’d tell me, ‘Son, the world’s a cold place, and the only warmth you’ll ever feel is from the fire you start yourself—or from the friction of your calloused hands.’ And look at me now! Perfectly well-adjusted.”

When asked if he had any children of his own, Mr. Prevalia scoffed. “Of course not. But if I did, I’d raise ‘em right—with discipline, grit, and absolutely zero unnecessary body contact. Maybe a firm pat on the back if they cured polio or something.”

At press time, Mr. Prevalia was seen attempting to suppress a single tear after a particularly moving insurance commercial featuring a dog reunited with its owner.

I've spent just a few decades watching men; especially those who are total experts at suppressing their feelings or have absolutely no clue how to handle a little introspection. It's always a joy when they unleash a tidal wave of unfiltered emotional piffle, usually triggered by those pesky full moons.

So, although I feel attracted by an event, I’m not completely thrilled about the idea of venturing out tonight, considering the glaring evidence that it could be a catastrophe. Who doesn’t want to dive headfirst into a lunatics mess?

This stylistic contrast promises to be especially sharp on Tues night, when #JDVance & #TimWalz meet in NY for the #VPdebate. And, even more than competing visions of #manhood, on view will be 2 very different ideas of what it means to be a #father: a battle of the dads, if you will.

In a country given to worshipful talk of #FoundingFathers, it’s not a new subject on the #political stage. Still, it has tended to be more conceptual than personal.

The portrayal of #manhood on stage in #Chicago this week has already been a marked departure from the one conveyed when #Republicans met last month for their convention. #Walz on Wednesday both gave a #football metaphor when talking about the state of the race & spoke emotionally about the formation of his family & his pride in them. His son, #Gus, stood in the audience, tearing up & pointing at the stage while saying, “That’s my dad.”
