@marthawells creation has been the major SF highlight of the last years for me.
It will be a challenge to bring it to the screens faithfully, but the first impressions from the trailer fill me with hope.
Remark: I don't expect or want a 1:1 conversion to the screen. Different media require different approaches, but I want the spirit preserved.

The cast look pretty good. They made Gurathin look like an asshole, Mensah etc. are not all honkies.
But the honkie male playing Murderbot is just so wrong. And he talks here about his True Blood vampire

There's been a lot of talk about the casting of the agender #murderbot with Sexy Action Dude Actor (to summarize and simplify) and, y'know, my headcannon is this: When they contracted the construction of an imposing "heartless killing machine" presence, the Company's decisions were predictably bro-centric.
My optimism is a lot less cautious than it might be. I think these folks really GET Murderbot. And Martha Wells is happy, so I'm happy.

The #murderbot trailer is even worse than I feared. I still can't believe they cast a masculine man and turned a subversive, hilarious story about a gender-free construct with its own morals and issues into a generic male-led action movie with ersatz jokes. Also the acting is terrible, he looks like a psycho instead of resting bitch face that doesn't reflect its thoughts or that it's secretly watching shows. Imo it's an absolute shame and I won't be watching it.
Got to admit I was worried about this adaptation, I love the Murderbot books so much, but this looks great!
Sanctuary Moon looks exactly as awful and cheesy as I imagined, they seem to have nailed Murderbot's awkwardness, snark and sarcasm.
Apparently Martha Wells has seen the whole season and loves it, so that's a good sign I guess!?

This doesn't look half bad, though a bit on the colourful / slap-sticky side. The "Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon" sequence is appropriately soapy.
