Δημοσιεύτηκε η Κοινή Υπουργική Απόφαση των υπουργών Μετανάστευσης & Ασύλου, Μάκη Βορίδη, και Εξωτερικών, Γιώργου Γεραπετρίτη, με την οποία, η Τουρκία, μεταξύ άλλων χωρών, εντάσσεται στον Εθνικό Κατάλογο Ασφαλών Τρίτων Χωρών ως «ασφαλής τρίτη χώρα» για συγκεκριμένες κατηγορίες αιτούντων διεθνούς προστασίας.
Η απόφαση αυτή, έρχεται μετά την ακύρωση της προηγούμενης ΚΥΑ που χαρακτήριζε την Τουρκία “ασφαλή τρίτη χώρα” από το ΣτΕ, καθώς κρίθηκαν ανεπαρκή τα κριτήρια της κοινής υπουργικής απόφασης.

The European Union’s border protection agency on Tuesday said it is investigating multiple alleged human rights violations by Greece in dealing with illegal immigration.

The agency, Frontex, said it is reviewing 12 alleged serious incidents that mostly took place in 2024. It gave no details.
Frontex spokesperson Chris Borowski told The Associated Press the agency recently boosted its complaint mechanism.
There was no immediate government response.
Greece has come under increased international scrutiny and criticism from human rights groups following a migrant boat sinking in 2023 off its southern coast that killed hundreds.
In a January ruling, the European Court of Human Rights described Greece’s use of summary expulsions of migrants, or “pushbacks,” as being systematic.

Οι δύο ανήλικοι, που ήδη αποφυλακίστηκαν, ενώ στη φυλακή παραμένει ακόμα ένας που στο Εφετείο είδε την ποινή του να μειώνεται από τα δέκα στα οχτώ έτη. Οι δύο ανήλικοι ήδη έχουν προσφύγει στο Ευρωπαϊκό Δικαστήριο Δικαιωμάτων του Ανθρώπου, κάτι που αναμένεται να κάνουν και οι τρεις πρόσφατα αθωωθέντες καθώς και ο τελεσίδικα καταδικασμένος.
Έξι περιστατικά υποσιτισμού σε παιδιά από 6 μηνών έως 6 ετών στο στρατόπεδο συγκέντρωσης Σάμου.
Το αρμόδιο υπουργείο αρνήθηκε πως η κατάσταση των παιδιών οφείλεται σε υποσιτισμό και κάνει λόγο για «άλλες αιτίες».

Their lawyer Zacharias Kesses: A fair trial was finally held through an exemplary judicial process. An unthinkable miscarriage of justice was corrected, and three individuals—unjustly targeted and imprisoned for nearly four years—were unanimously acquitted. Justice prevailed.

Only hours after the catastrophic shipwreck on Lesvos that claimed 8 lives, 4 of them small children, Greek authorities arrested one of the passengers, a 20 year old Afghan man, and charged him of being a smuggler.
Only hours before, he had seen his wife and one of his children drown in front of him, helplessly watching, without him being able to rescue them, the worst experience imaginable. His other child was one of the survivors.
The 20 year old Afghan man explained in the preliminary hearing, that the real smugglers, who had stayed behind on the Turkish shore, as they normally do, had forced them to attempt the perilous crossing.

As deterrence, Greek authorities arrested the person who steers the boat, and he is charged with smuggling, endangering the other passengers lives, and if someone dies, their deaths. The court case is a farce, usually over in 15 minutes, no proper legal representation, many times without translations, so the accused don’t even know what is being said. A judge, more worried about what he will have for lunch, adds up the number of people onboard, multiplying it with the going rate of smuggling, and hands out a ridiculous prison sentences of 60-140 years.

Οι 3 από τους 6 που κατηγορούνταν για το κάψιμο της Μόριας και είχαν παραπεμφθεί στο δικαστήριο ανηλίκων αθωώθηκαν.
Με τα λόγια του δικηγόρου τους:
"8 Σεπτεμβρίου 2020. Πυρκαγιές καταστρέφουν ολοσχερώς τη Μόρια, τον μεγαλύτερο προσφυγικό καταυλισμό της Ευρώπης. Για αυτή την πράξη στοχοποιήθηκαν έξι νεαροί Αφγανοί — πέντε εκ των οποίων ανήλικοι. Χωρίς επαρκή στοιχεία, διασύρθηκαν, θυματοποιήθηκαν, κατηγορήθηκαν για όλα. Το τεκμήριο αθωότητας ποδοπατήθηκε.
Ακολούθησαν δίκες που απείχαν πολύ από το να χαρακτηριστούν δίκαιες.
Χθες, το Τριμελές Δικαστήριο Ανηλίκων Μυτιλήνης μετά από πολύωρη υποδειγματική διαδικασία αθώωσε ομόφωνα τους τρεις εντολείς μου.
Μετά από 3 χρόνια, 5 μήνες και 22 ημέρες άδικου εγκλεισμού σε φυλακές ενηλίκων.
Μετά από 1.662 ημέρες σε πλήρη δικαστική ομηρεία.
Η υπόθεσή τους θα μείνει στη μνήμη μου ως μία από τις πιο χαρακτηριστικές αποτυχίες του συστήματος να προστατεύσει έγκαιρα αθώους.
Η υπεράσπισή τους αποτελεί για μένα τίτλο τιμής."
