Restaurant designers are wok-ing hard to bring Maricopa a second helping of fast-food orange chicken.  InMaricopa first announced Rosemead, Calif.-based Panda Express wants to build a second location on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway in July. This week, Panda No. 2 took another step forward.  Monterey Park, Calif. design firm Gary Wang & Associates last week submitted site plans and elevations for the 2,700-square-foot drive-thru restaurant planned to be built just west of The Home Depot near Stonegate

The ticket office at Crowhurst was open thank goodness and the wonderful Nikki phoned the stations enroute to London. The equally wonderful Charlotte at Stonegate station said she would run over the bridge, get my case off the train and keep it for me.

So I was able to get the next London bound train, get off at #Stonegate and rescue said case. I had to wait 30 mins for the train to get me back and Charlotte made me a cup of tea to steady my nerves.

Not good news for #Portsmouth pub-goers here as a private equity firm in ultimate control of the finances of 33 of our pubs is looking to refinance this year, and when have "private equity firms" and "refinancing" ever led to anything positive for locals or local businesses or the people who work in or use them? Don't try to answer that question.

This tiny chapel is within the last remaining gate protecting the upper city of Zagreb. There was a fire here in the 17th century and the only thing to survive was an image of the Virgin Mary; the chapel has been a pilgrimage destination ever since. People come to light a candle and thank Mary for protecting them.
