Die Moonrise wird bald ihrem Besitzer Übergeben: Dem WhatsApp Gründer Jan Koum.

Die Form kam mir irgendwie bekannt vor: Stellt sich raus: Die haben für ihn hier das fast gleiche Schiff vor 5 Jahren schon einmal gebaut. (1m kürzer)

Nach 5 Jahren kann das schon mal neu.
Ob das alte jetzt auf den Schrott kommt?

For #SchiffsSamstag here's the superyacht Tis as seen around sunrise in Gibraltar in 2019. She's since been renamed first the Lady Gulya when she was owned by now-sanctioned Russian oligarch, Alisher Usmanov, and is now Alaiya and owned by British steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal.

You really need to see what she looks like inside because "palace" really does describe her well:

It's very early morning and we're looking at a small industrial port backed by a lumpy, rocky hill beyond which the sky is brightening up, becoming a pale golden. The hill is a light silhouette with parts of obscured by low, wispy clouds. At the back of the port there are apartment blocks. To the left and in the foreground there are containers and small, cylindrical silos. The main focus is on a hugely expensive-looking superyacht docked in front of the apartment buildings. It's over a hundred metres long with a sharp prow. The hull is dark blue while the tapered, stepped decks above arranged in a streamline shape are all white.

Gestern schrob ich einen Thread 🧵 über die #Superyacht CHRISTINA O und Aristoteles Onassis. Bei den Recherchen hatte ich interessanten "Beifang". Nun weiß ich, WIE groß und WIE teuer Joanne K. Rowlings Yacht SAMSARA ist: 2.946 t Verdrängung, 88,5 m Länge ü. Alles, Kaufpreis 180 Millionen US $. Ich gönne #Rowling ja ihren Reichtum, aber ihre riesige und Unmengen Öl verbrennende Luxusyacht verrät unschönes über die rücksichtslose Mentalität der Erfolgsautorin.

"British tech giant Mike Lynch, his lawyer and four other people are among those missing after their luxury superyacht sank during a freak storm off Sicily early Monday, Italy’s civil protection and authorities said. Lynch’s wife and 14 other people survived.

"Lynch, who was acquitted in June in a big U.S. fraud trial, was among the six people who remain unaccounted for after their chartered sailboat sank off Porticello, when a tornado over the water known as a waterspout struck the area overnight, said Salvo Cocina of Sicily’s civil protection agency."
