Oh I'm on one of these #new #subway cars! Very cool very continuous. The #wayfinding on the screens is a nice ux, but I can imagine a more refined version in the future.

Spider maps are #transitmaps that show routes serving a specific place. Routes radiate out from that place—sorta like the legs of a spider.

The thing about #alleys is that where a sidewalk intersect with them is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION than when a sidewalk intersects with a road.
Sidewalks + roads = #CurbCuts
Sidewalks + alleys = sharp or slightly angled curb that slopes across the entire sidewalk to meet the road
In other words, there are two deep, irregular slopes bracketing the alleyway that span across most of the #sidewalk.

Just discovered a DELIGHTFUL feature on Google Maps. Exploring a place I'll be traveling to, have restaurants highlighted in vicinity of hotel that was my original search. When I mouse over a restaurant it highlights the walking route and gives me the time estimate. Awesome! Transit is a separate option to click on stations; when you do, walk time to get there pops up.
