When I am NOT working on railway policy, and would have time to work on ferries, I'd work to make it a legal obligation that every ferry everywhere has to carry foot passengers
@jon I think the EU will need to step in on this. It's got to the point where the last remnants of demand may be getting killed off by ppl realising they're not wanted as passengers. Infra for foot passengers at ports has been abandoned. You'll see the old gangways rotting away on the piers.
If walk on-walk off infra was there & trains & buses served the ferries, interest might well revive to a decent level. One wonders about the economics, with stuff like the P&O sackings going on.
