Umm… so this Tesla “recall” actually involves an over-the-air update rather than an actual physical recall of cars.
@gcluley Yeah, I read about that last night. Few people saying they had egg on their face. But not really, as it’s just an OTA update.
I dislike Tesla (well, Musk actually) and really wanted this to be true. But alas, technology saved them.
@gcluley was wondering about that! Seemed bizarre that a car that gets seemingly random beta software updates sent out to it while operating on public roads would suddenly need to be physically recalled, but that's how some of the articles implied it
@gcluley OK but if the update causes the cars to drive themselves back to where they were purchased...
