i'm ending this month very satisfied and grateful with what has happened with @compudanzas: we advanced, playtested and documented the #qiudanz technique; we taught the #introToUxn online workshop; we got to help in the Mu tutorial; and we got new supporters via patreon and ko-fi! :tealheart: :merveilles:

i invite you to join in supporting so that we can continue with online workshops and start translating our materials! it would help us a lot :)

After putting it off for some time, I finally finished day 2 of the uxn guide @compudanzas ! I'd really like to know about the loops though, the code for this one looks like a mess!

Excited to start putting together a small gemini site hosted on Flounder!

@csepp Do you know of any Hungarian mastodon servers? It would be great to have/be a part of a local little server, but I'm not sure if enough people use it here, even in Budapest. I know ELTE has its own server, but it's more for academia than anything else.

If you don't want to have giant data leaks you should not create giant data troves. Its as simple as that

Robbing the entire town is so much easier if it conveniently collects all its wealth in one bank

Nothing like the prospect of concentrated loot to concentrate the attention, energy and ingenuity of bad actors

and is also about simple through diversification

exciting news! we are teaching a #uxn online workshop! <3

Babycastles Academy: Intro to Uxn Programming

Sunday Nov 21 of the current year, 3pm NYC time (UTC-5)

we'll love to see you there!

"final update: Using mostly CLI was easy, actually! Browsing news, mastodon, catching up on downloaded sites and articles works great, since they are mostly text-based anyways. For some cases, I need to use qutebrowser, but I open it a lot less frequently now! I think I'm going to stay with this setup and only use the GUI browser when I absolutely need to."

Trying to find uses for my old android devices.
*Nexus 7 have already sort of replaced my "gaming" PC as the gaming/multimedia device
*I'm trying to run a smol webserver on a ZTE Kis
*One device I couldn't find a use for yet is my old Zenfone, which is interesting, because it has an x86 Intel chip inside it instead of an arm chip.

Have you find some new uses for "old", previously discarded technology?

when you think about it, the idea that software should scale is actually really weird. "sure this garden is nice, but how nice can it be if it doesn't grow to cover the entire surface of the earth?"

*But I had no problem doing most of the things I needed to, prepared for tutoring lessons without problem, only school and uni stuff is problematic, since they require some webapps
*I really love having a distinct programs for distinct tasks. If I want to see a picture someone posted on here, I check it in Feh, if I want to see a YT video, I'll view it in mpv. It feels more organic than having everything in one place

quick update on (mostly) cli living:
*I always notice myself fearing that I'm missing some information. On tootstream, I'm afraid that the "home" command only loads some posts, and not all which I have not seen; in Elinks, I am scared of not understanding the websites, of missing something obvioud because of the missing Css layout or visual clues. It's like information FOMO"

So this week, I'm trying to use programs exclusiveli in the terminal. I am typing this in tootstream at the moment. I also trie out Lynx, w3m and elinks, but I like elinks the most, so I'll try messing around with that. If you have any recommendations for more CLI, or just low resource programs, please, let me know!

Took apart my two laptops yesterday to put the SSD from the more powerful one into the smaller one(thinkpad x121e), since I use the small one more often. Turns out, it didn't really help the performance, it still takes me about 5 seconds to open qutebrowser, I guess the CPU is the bottleneck.
Maybe my approach was misguided: why try to fix the software problem with better parts, when I can find less demanding software?

I’m talking specifically here about this app called Transit that constantly requests access to my fitness data so it can tell me if I need to (no joke) run faster to make it to my bus / streetcar on time.

Can't wait for fall break, much more time for personal projects! I'll list some here, maybe I'll stick to them more.

-figuring out if I can power my old ZTE Kis phone with a solar panel backplate made for the LG GD510
-figuring out gemini hosting and webhosting in general, trying to run Agate on the ZTE Kis running Debian
-Learning more uxn!
-catching up on reading
-many more, but I don't want to overcrowd the list and lose focus (I tend to)

What personal projects do you have for this fall?

Hello friends! Just moved over from mastodon.art, I though this place would fit me better.

Hope you have a great day!
