Undiscovered Scotland<p>The massive tower of Dundonald Castle, dominating the Ayrshire landscape for miles around. It was built on an elevated site that had been fortified since around 500 and was the favourite home of King Robert II in the late 1300s. Jonny Clark<p>My good deed for the day - I rescued this beautiful little Holly Blue from a watery end this evening.<br>Think it’s a female but hard to tell with wet wings.<br>Found her upside down in a puddle on the Comber Road surrounded by cherry blossom (like a scene from “Melancholia”).<br>Picked her up and carried her to the nearest bush that was still in sunlight. Undiscovered Scotland<p>634 years ago today. King Robert II died at Dundonald Castle in Ayrshire on 19 April 1390. He began the House of Stewart/Stuart, which ruled Scotland for over two centuries before unifying the crowns of Scotland and England.
