Yesterday I took on another allotment project. It’s a half plot with potential to take on the full plot and it’s right next door to a small nature reserve. All the people I’ve met have been very welcoming. It’s good to start something afresh.

An allotment plot with a central grass path leading to a small wooden shed. It’s overgrown but not too badly. A brindle boxer dog is having a good look around on one of the beds that can be brought into life very quickly.
A sign on a tree in the nature reserve reads “Please respect my home. I might be sleeping here. Tawny owl boxes in the trees. Slow worms in the grassland. Hedgehogs in the habitat homes.And many more. We hope you enjoy your visit. Please keep your dogs on a lead. Please stay on the paths and do not take anything off site. Get involved: info@ouwg.org.uk

@Broadfork that looks similar to the jungle we took on this year! Good fun. 😅

So a new site? Is this in addition to your other site/plot?

@yvan Yes, another site and one that’s more in tune with how I want to do things. It has a nature reserve,

I’m still keeping my other plot for next year but this is the one I’ll be spending time on getting it into shape over winter.

After that I’ll just have to see how it goes.

@Broadfork nice to have some options! A very good sign that they have a nature reserve, sounds very in-line with your thinking. A good winter project too.

@yvan I’m looking forward to getting started on it. My current plot is all ready for the winter so I can concentrate on this one.
