Interesting. A few (non-techy, everyday user) people I know who have stayed on WhatsApp are now thinking of leaving due to 'Meta AI' being embedded on the app in the last few days.
Could be a few more people I know coming over to Signal now.
I do wonder if big tech app-embedded AI is now becoming a step too far for the 'ordinary person in the street'.
@mathzy this IS interesting. And I hope so. I think 'AI' fatigue is coming or maybe already here. The companies and tech bros are so far off on this, most people don't want it. Most people aren't asking for this. And as usual, they try to force new, unnecessary, unhelpful things on everyone.
I agree. The friends I talked to aren't tech-savvy but are deeply uncomfortable about these mandatory AI additions.
@mathzy that's the real litmus test, right? The opinions of the non tech savvy. Those are the most important ones, those are the ones that will use a lot of this stuff most, the users the companies ignore/don't care about.
