Six visitors to the Rest And Be Mothful trap last night.

All catalogued for purposes and released into the shrubbery to continue their mothological business.

Overhead shot of a small 2cm moth. It is a narrow triangular shape, almost narrow rectangular with mid-brown furry head and collar and feathered antennae that point left and right. Its wings are also mid brown but have two white-edged stigmata on each, a large oval and below it a kidney shape. There is a faintish black line that bisects the two stigmata running horizontally from left wing edge to right wing edge The termen (back edge of the wings) has a hem characterised by white crossline with dark red-brown shadow above it that runs horizontally from left to right but more in a shallow tent or peak shape, from which very thin white vertical veins run to the back wing edges giving the appearance of said hem.
Overhead shot of a 2cm moth. It is largely dark blue-ish grey with hints of brown. Its significant feature is an unusual marking resembling the Hebrew character nun. In essence the character on the right wing is a black L-shaped block but slightly concave on the inner edge of the L. On the left wing is a mirror image, so a backwards L. The termen, tail edge of the wings is brown and grey chequered
Overhead shot of a larger 4cm moth. It is equilateral triangle shaped. It resembles a patterned carpet with three horizontal bands. The upper band near the head and collar is largely black in the centre with white flashes on the wing edge and reddish brown running horizontally wing edge to edge. The band is broken underneath by a zigzag black line. The middle section is largely speckled white with specks of green and a thin black jagged line running wing edge to edge, just above a more vivid black and zigzag marking the bottom of the middle section. The final section is darker than the middle, starting off reddish brown but fading to white-grey towards the back edge of the wing.
