**LAUNCH** of #ClimateDiary
Hashtag
I've been thinking for a while that it would be good to have a collective Climate Diary (along the lines of the Sussex Mass Observation project): people from across the world recording and sharing everyday observations, experiences, thoughts, feelings relating to the #ClimateCrisis
I would like to try out simply using a #Hashtag - #ClimateDiary - here on #Mastodon to create this and I would like to invite you all to join in and share widely! 1/4
I like the idea - it's great for ease of contribution.
Because Mastodon federation members come & go, and take their toots with them when they go, you might want to consider some kind of federation crawler that slowly harvests & persists these posts for posterity.

@eswag @aral i don’t suppose you have any advice on how i might be able to do this? How to archive or somehow save all #ClimateDiary posts in one place? Or anyone who might know?

The API lets you search for posts with a hashtag. The only wrinkle is that due to federation searching any single instance is unlikely to get everything in the Fediverse.

I am actually working on some code for a robot that collates/boosts posts with particular hashtags.
@pvonhellermannn @aral I'd love to help, but I have no time right now. I see others on this TL suggesting the overall approach I'd favour.
