Captured what looks to be two Green Jays in love! The engagement between the two was really something!
These brilliant green, blue, and yellow colored jays are birds of the tropics whose range barely stretches into the USA in southern Texas.

We had already walked miles in the state park & needed to rest our feet. Thankfully, there are benches throughout the park for tram stops. We weren't ready for the tram; we only wanted to sit & have some water.
What a perfect place for a break, as many Orange-crowned Warblers were zipping around the surrounding trees.

Die Schafstelze – Leichtigkeit in Bewegung

Zierlich, wachsam und voller Energie – die Schafstelze ist ein Vogel des offenen Landes, zu Hause zwischen Gräsern, Feldern und Feuchtwiesen. Mit ihrem leuchtend gelben Bauch und dem kontrastreichen Gefieder bringt sie Farbe in jede Landschaft, fast wie ein fliegender Sonnenstrahl.

Sie ist kaum je still: ständig in Bewegung, stets auf der Suche nach kleinen Insekten – flink, elegant und überraschend wendig. Ihre Stimme ist ein feines „zipp“, das oft noch lange in der Luft zu hängen scheint, selbst wenn der Vogel schon längst weitergezogen ist.

Symbolisch steht die Schafstelze für Leichtigkeit, Wendigkeit und das Talent, sich anzupassen. Sie lebt im Wechselspiel mit ihrer Umgebung, bleibt nie lange an einem Ort, aber weiß genau, wann es Zeit ist, weiterzuziehen. Ein kleiner Vogel mit großer Lebendigkeit – und einem Hauch von Fernweh im Blick.
