Hi, Fediverse! #Introduction time: I'm a political junkie from #America 🇺🇸 who doesn't fit easily into today's boxes:

✅ I try to respect the dignity of other people even if I disagree with them. #ImagoDei
✅ I'm a #prolife #conservative with a #libertarian / #ClassicalLiberal bent.
✅ I embrace being a #Neocon internationally (pro-#NATO, pro-#Ukraine #NAFO 🇺🇦 , pro-#Israel 🇮🇱, pro-#Canada 🇨🇦, anti-#terrorism).
✅ I'm a #Christian ✝️ who dislikes when people confuse Biblical principles with political preferences. I try to distinguish between the two in my takes.
✅ I don't criticize things just because #DonaldTrump or #JoeBiden said it -- I disagree when they go against my principles.

I also really love #barbecue 🍖, #music 🎵 spanning pop to classical and enjoy writing. My takes on the world sometimes appear on @ofb — drop by and say hi to the whole gang over there! 👋

( I realize I've been remiss to post an introduction after several months on the #Fediverse, so better late than never, right?)

Melancthon Jacobus, Presbyterian minister, on the common property of Acts 4:32, which was strictly common use, not ownership. Generous, non-grasping dealing with the poor should be a matter of discipleship. A grasping Christian is a contradiction in terms.

Today, is a “grasping Christian” apt to be celebrated, given church leadership because of knowledge of money?

How can you share the uses of your items with others?

Otto Theleman was a Reformed pastor in Germany who wrote on the Heidelberg Catechism. He says to not covet also means to advance well-being of all believers. At least in his day, Theleman saw need 2B “constantly admonished”.

Today it’s more like conservatives constantly admonish the rest of us that Christians or rich people give more, so everyone hush up about how much suffering there is. Need more reminders?
