A mailout just now confirms that you can now buy or rent #Flow by #GintsZilbalodis via digital platforms. It'll also be available later via the Criterion Channel and physically by Janus Contemporaries but folks, if you haven't seen it -- run, don't walk. My fave film of 2024, hands down.

A'ight, so I just finished watching the Latvian animated movie Flow (2024).

It's a silent film with a great score about a black cat sailing on a boat with various other species while learning to coexist with them after all their their homes get destroyed in a post-apocalyptic flood.

It reminded me of Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal, but without the gory violence.

The ending made me feel both happy and sad at the same time.
