A couple people I know call these “cat nine tails” or “cat o’ nine tails” which, it turns out, is the name of a type of whip historically used for corporal punishment. I’m guessing this might a be a regional term for this plant, has anyone heard it outside of Maine?

Lobster pound, Swans Island Maine.
While “lobster pound” is colloquially used along the coast of Maine to refer to a casual seafood restaurant—often located by the ocean—where you can eat lobster. In the case of these photographs, the term can also mean a built enclosure in a cove or harbor to hold a large amount of lobster.

I always feel like waxing philosophic when staring at the blinking cursor in these caption prompts. What do you say about an old barn in the country that you meandered by last fall? Only getting to posting now? Should I mention that it was a holiday? Should I talk about the relationship I was in? The struggles we were having?

I saw a meme that was like “you know a man’s hit rock bottom when he’s saying stuff like ‘just trying to enjoy the little things’”

I don’t know if I’ve hit rock bottom yet
but I can feel the relentless passage of time. I’m gonna pair it with moss and a crisp breeze and celluloid. What’s left of it
