The #NewJersey Department of Environmental Protection has charged ITSELF with damaging the habitat of two threatened bird species that IT IS BY LAW RESPONSIBLE TO PROTECT. The department was clearing vegetation and soil on 3 acres of public lands, but ended up destroying protected #wildfile #habitat, #wetlands and removing mature #trees. The agency issued a violation to ITS OWN Division of Fish and Wildlife and threatened penalties.
