Quite a bit of variety last night (more to come later), but star of the show, though quite common in the UK, was this amazing LIME HAWK-MOTH. First sighting for me in 2024 and just about on cue date-wise...

Large pink-buff moth on a finger, It has two olive green squares in the middle of each of its extended wings, which are angled slightly back like the wings of a plane. The wings are straight on the top edge, but highly scalloped on the back edge. The back edge of the wing is a lighter olive green with a silvery blotch in each wing tip corner. The abdomen is chunky, pink-buff in colour, but the sides of the head are olive green. It has two thick, white antennae.
