It is only a secondary annoyance, given that major fault, that the characters are being surprised by skeleton models in attics because they are using 1940s era pen flashlights and can only see a small spot in the room.

Here in the 21st century, scriptwriters, not only CIA agents but even the everyday public can buy portable omnidirectional LED lamps that will illuminate a whole room.

I bought one myself for under a tenner from Homebase in its bankruptcy sale. It uses three AA batteries.

I know that the first rule of telly applies, but even so sometimes scriptwriters do some egregious things.

It's kind of insane that a television series from 1985, forty years ago, #TheEqualizer has 2 concurrent adaptations of the property, one in a film series starring Denzel Washington and the other a television show starring Queen Latifah. I wasn't expecting a resurgence like this. What other properties is like this? Maybe Fantasy Island for a brief period with that film and television series. That's all I can think of.
